- Scope
Applies to all clinical and non-clinical staff, including doctors, assistants, reception staff, office staff,
and interns.
- General Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, infection-controlled environment.
- Follow sterilisation protocols strictly.
- Report hazards, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Use PPE as required.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste.
- Infection Control Protocols
- Follow hand hygiene, surface disinfection, instrument sterilisation, and aerosol control protocols.
- Maintain sterilisation logs daily.
- Monitor autoclave performance routinely.
- Biomedical Waste Management
- Segregate waste using colour-coded bins.
- Dispose sharps in puncture-proof containers.
- Prevent mixing of general and biomedical waste.
- Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Know locations of fire extinguishers, exits, and emergency kits.
- Follow evacuation instructions.
- Report electrical issues immediately.7. Equipment Safety
- Operate equipment only after proper training.
- Report malfunctions immediately.
- Do not attempt self-repairs.
- Handling Chemicals & Hazardous Materials
- Store disinfectants and chemicals properly.
- Avoid inhalation, ingestion, or skin exposure.
- Report spills immediately.
- Patient Safety
- Ensure safe seating and comfort.
- Check medical history before treatment.
- Monitor medically compromised patients.

- Staff Health & Well-being
- Avoid working when contagious.

- Accident & Incident Reporting
